Alberta Food Bank Donation
made by
the Masonic Family in Alberta
Alison Richards of Food Banks Alberta is pictured “virtually” receiving a $32,000 cheque from M. Ex Comp Rod Ponech, Grand “Z” in November 2020. Due to COVID restrictions Alison Richards stood outside of her office for a socially distanced outdoor presentation. Thus: the two pictures, since there was no one else to be the photographer!
Stoney Chapter in Stony Plain, Alberta, spearheaded the fundraising venture in order to assist Food Banks that were struggling to maintain food supplies during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Stoney Chapter reached out to the Grand Lodge of Alberta and the Scottish Rite Freemasons of Alberta to assist in the fundraising efforts. Overall $35,000 was raised which was shared with other small Food Banks in Alberta. The cheque came from the Masonic Foundation of Alberta, which in true Masonic brotherhood and cooperation, had facilitated the collection of donations and the issuing of tax receipts.
